I think it must be Jacques Martin who introduced the idea of sketching the profile of his heroes. Whatever, it is all the more effective with Alix, the young roman that is his signature hero. It definitively looks like it could have been designed for an ancient coin!

The bonus for me is that I had Jacques Martin sketch this one on my absolute favourite Alix album ever: "La Griffe Noire" (The Black Claw)!!!
