The Rhino has always been one of my favorite Spidey villains ever since the ’67 cartoon, where he narcissistically created a statue of himself out of gold! Here we have his second appearance. I prefer this to his first appearance in ASM 41, as that issue was inked by Esposito, whereas 43 was inked by Romita and the difference is notable.

This to me is a great panel page. Cover shot with iconic Spidey pose in large first panel - hero and villain in every panel - great development and motion across the page - villain uses his signature power (Rhino charge).

Not to mention that Rhino flip is just too cool - KLONK!!!

A stunning page from one of my favorite issues of Spidey! I remember first reading this issue in a re-print in the early 70s. This qualifies as a grail! Your collection is very, very impressive! Well done!

C'mon this is outstanding. Jeez. For me, the Spidey cartoon was just my entry into the world of Marvel and I fondly revisit it - including the Rhino episodes - constantly. Bravo.

I was going to write about how much I loved this page in the comics, and mostly because it reminded me so much of the cool Spidey-Rhino battle in the 60s cartoon, then I read your text, and went OMG!, how could I forget the Rhino's gold statue?!? I must be gettin' old.

P.S. - My favorite bit will always be Spidey grabbing his horn and ramming his head into the ground! Klonk! Classic.
