Description

Artist prelim by James Avati, signed. This is gouche on a piece of interior wallboard. Avati had obviously taken a piece of spare building material, cut it into 5" X 7" rectangles, and used it for his preliminary art projects. This one was probably the last before the finished work, since the cover illustration is obviously patterned after it exactly. Notice the placement of the woman's shoes and the man's hat and coat, the neckline of the blouse, etc.
