Description

Incredibly detailed piece done as the cover the the Day to the Daleks laserdisk in 1989. From the artist's facebook page:

"Can I start again?,I don't really like this!"

'For the first time ever in my professional life I asked the client if I could start again having already started the final art.
My original design featured other elements particular to this yarn such as the house that blows up at the end of the story,having had my rough design approved I set about painting up the agreed design only to fall out of love with what I was doing half way through.
I'm sure this is the third version of this particular design that you see here today complete with the hairy handed gorilla (Ogrons).
I'm fond of the fact that I was able to portray the great Aubrey Woods as 'The Controller' who also was the sweet shop owner in the original and best film of 'Charlie and the chocolate factory' along with Gene Wilder as Wonka.
As with the other designs in this series the reproduction was sadly well below par hampering the finished product.'
