Description
The JL8 strip by Yale Stewart takes the primary members of DC's Justice League of America and places them in elementary school as 8 years olds (JL + 8, get it?).

I think the strip is wonderful. Yale has a strong sense of pace and does an excellent job of conveying emotion through his character's body language and subtle expression changes. The dialog is excellent and the jokes are funny. He also handles poignant moments well.

In this strip, Clark and Bruce are returning from Diana's birthday party. At the party, Bruce replaced his original gift for Diana with cash because Clark, who had had a crush on Diana, a found out that she feels towards Clark what a sister feels to her brother - love, but not LOVE. At that point, Bruce decided that the Spin the Bottle game wouldn't help and he gave her cash.

On the way home, Clark notices that Bruce has his gift and teases him about it since he knows Bruce has a crush on Karen. The scene is beautifully done and I like the change in coloring from the normal bright strip. After all, it's night time and that's Bruce's time!

Yale's a beginner just learning his craft with his first regular projects coming out now, but JL8 is a strong strip well worth your time to read. Trust me!

Love JL8, Alex! Recently discovered it and easily spent half a day reading each strip Yale has produced. DC should make it an official property and get it out there; easily one of the best strips I've read in years. Congrats on the pages!

Great strip. He's done a great job on the strip, wish it was an actual comic. Congrats on the pickup.

Another great example of Yale's work! Very funny, and I love the work on light and shadows in this strip.
