DescriptionNicely detailed large prelim for the Overstreet 8 Cover in 1978. 13.5 x 20 pencil on paper. This looks to be one of the final "prelims" that Ward did for this before moving on to the colored version. There are some interesting notes in the margin behind the mat..."Bob, could you get rights to some other gal? Black Cat, etc... This may be the one that Ward donated to the Chicago Comicon benefit art auction around the time the book came out (he did several tight prelims and so it is hard to remember all these years later which one the auction had! Nice to see it again after all these years

Sold this at the ComicLink auction. Spring 2015. Somebody got a sweet deal!
