DescriptionWilliam Galbraith Crawford, who signed his work "Galbraith", took over the Side Glances panel from George Clark, who left to start The Neighbors in 1939. Galbraith's early work was rich and lush, with a wonderful use of both brush & ink and litho crayon. This particular daily panel, from 5/22/42, features a Rosie-the-Riveter type woman in a factory, who states, "My husband would simply be lost in this plant. He can't even fix a leaky faucet!" I love pieces like this, that present a slice of history.Social/Sharing |
