Description
I had posted this DA commission back last year when I first got it. But when the Superman fandom decided to indulge their already bloated egos and scream bloody murder over MAN OF STEEL (just as they did to the similarly maligned-for-absolutely-no-good-reason SUPERMAN RETURNS), I deleted all of my MOS-related Superman art from CAF and DA out of embarrassment. I honestly felt ashamed that I'd gotten any art of that film's Superman costume, and I avoided the movie because I didn't want to put up with the fandom's incessant lying, incessant self-entitlement, and blatant double standards.

Then, a few weeks ago, after almost a year of my brother and sisters prodding me to no end to see the film, I finally watched MAN OF STEEL.

It's not a bad movie. Far from it; it's immeasurably superior to the train wreck that is the Nolan Batman trilogy. It actually has a plot that makes sense, the characters are recognizable as their traditional selves, and it embraces its science fantasy roots to the hilt.

It's not a disrespect to the Superman character or mythos. In fact, much like SUPERMAN RETURNS before it, 90% of the film is rooted in Superman's entire 76-year history, including Superman having to kill under extreme, uncontrollable circumstances. (And a far cry from his casual killing of the Zod squad and Nuclear Man in the Reeve films.)

Nearly ever single fanboy complaint about it is built on lies, distortions, and personal bias to the Nth degree. In short, just like everything the fandom ever talks about.

So yeah, I'm reposting my MOS-inspired art pieces. I will never again allow a fandom that's proven time again to be grossly arrogant and dishonest beyond belief to make me feel ashamed of what I like or don't like. And I will not listen to so much as a peep of said dishonesty and whining from this moment forth. If you're of that persuasion, don't waste your breath on me. I won't have it.
