DescriptionUp for sale for the first time one of my most treasured Walking Dead pieces that also has the most views in my gallery. This is a commission I arranged with Tony Moore for pickup at Toronto Comic Con in 2014. He started the layout at home the week before and finished it at the Con. Tony even took it back to the the hotel on the first day of the Con to add additional details. I gave Tony a choice of 5 potential ideas and this is the one he picked. He said he had a lot of fun working it and it turned out incredible. He drew it on the back of an 11" x 17" Marvel art board. He usually draws edge to edge on a smaller piece of art board but I requested a large one so the whole image could be seen when framed. In additional photos there's a full page scan. The gold dots in the lower margin are from Tony testing his gold signing marker before signing for fans. This piece was a re-imagining of the moment Carl Grimes kills Shane. You can see the exit wound on Shane's neck. His shirt and pants are soaked with blood with it beginning to pool on the ground. I love the way Tony drew Shane's shocked expression and the erie look in his eyes. Carl is holding the smoking gun with Rick standing over him. Social/Sharing |
