In my early teens,I was not only deeply into comic books, I was also reading science-fiction books by the truckload (makes me wonder how I had time for anything else ! Still,... But I digress...). Combining the best of both worlds, it didn't take me long to appreciate cover artists who managed to conjure all the geist of the novel in one go and, on the top of list, was Gray Morrow.

This one dates from 1970, precisely when he was producing stunning stories for DC horror mags, his very peak period in my opinion. It's a large mixed media psychedelic masterpiece, certainly one of his best pieces ever!

Boy, am I happy!...

Thanks Davide, glad you like this one! Gray Morrow was one of these very few artists that could easily cross the border between comics and illustration and still retain the same brillance...

Thanks Johan! Though this is definitely illustration and not comic art per se, it's nice to be able to display the versatility of an artist of the calibre of Gray Morrow, who could easily cross genres and be as relevent, as powerful in any!
