DescriptionExceptionally large Cap cover image by Kirby plus a classic 1970s "Kirby Punch" cover of Cap riding rocket-powered skateboards in a Roller Derby of Death! With Falcon flying into action, Cap is surrounded by guns, explosives, flamethrowers, hatchet-weilding armored gladiators and battle debris flying all around. Hail to the "King"!Social/Sharing |

Congrats Dino! Cap and Falcon were huge circa 1976...I had them on a beach hat that I got at Toys 'R Us. Wore it everywhere. The image was very similar to this cover. Great memories!

This is one of the best Bornze Age covers by Jack Kirby (not all of them are exactly top notch, IMHO). Typical energy, with characters leaping right at you. It must be amazing to look at in person. Congratulations!

... Typical energy, with characters leaping right at you ...Agreed. Although I tend to prefer a more illustrative style, this exemplifies Kirby's pure power and being able to suggest motion with a static image. Kill-Derby!!!

Sweet! I remember holding this in my hands along w/ the complete book at Jacks house in the the late 80's. There was about 6 or 8 complete Cap books and 8-10 complete Eternals. I whittled it down to this ish and Eternals #2. With FIVE full page splashes, the cover AND a DPS I chose Eternals #2 complete.

An action packed Captain America cover from Kirby. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, the Falcon. Kirby's art always had a sense of power regardless of the era. A great addition to your collection. Cheers! N.

Love the King's covers for his 2nd tour of Marvel. They are so over the top crazy (in a great way) and I think the inkers were less apt to soften the Kirby pencils. This one is just awesome!

I love Kirby's 70's Cap run, and this is one of the most memorable covers from his return to Marvel. Giacoia was the perfect inker for Jack's 70's art. He was able to soften the pencils up just a bit without overwhelming the inks, and retained everything that made Kirby so amazing. Perfect pairing on a perfect cover! Congrats Dino.

Look, what can I possibly say that the 58 other people who commented before me didn't already say? The energetic, in your face, explosive dynamism is what made Kirby the KING. I can prove that simply by submitting this cover into evidence. 'Nuff said!

While I wasn't a fan of Kirby's return to the title after Sal's run, who wouldn't love a Cap cover by the King? A lot of action here, congrats!
