I wouldn't say that Chrissie Zullo is an underrated artist, because I don't know anyone who doesn't like her artwork. I think the term would be 'under-utilized' since I don't see tons of her work professionally. This page was done for a great fundraiser. The Emerald City Comic Convention yearly does a book, Monsters and Dames, and then auctions off some of the artwork from the book and some other pieces for the local Children's Hospital. For those who don't know, Seattle Children's Hospital does some amazing work with kids and children seem to be underfunded all the time, so any chance to raise money for the hospital has me bidding for stuff. Not all the artists in the Monsters and Dames book donates stuff, so in doing so, I find that I like Zullo's art even more. This particular piece caught my eye as the girl's expression to me is wistful, hopeful, and a little bit afraid. Plus I like how the dog is eying the rock. Great piece for a great underfunded cause by an under-utilized artist.
