Description

Ron Randall is a great artist. It's amazing what happens when you're a kid. I loved Arak, Son of Thunder from DC. I thought it was a great story idea told as only comics can. It's also where I first encountered Randall's art. I loved it, but as a kid, I didn't pay attention to that stuff. Then, in college, I encountered Dark Horse Presents and Trekker. Great story, loved the art (didn't make the connection to Arak), but was in college. You can eat comics, but they aren't very filling, so DHP was not in my monthly budget (or bi-monthly, I don't remember how frequently DHP came out). Fast forward to Rose City Comic Convention 2013. I got a chance to talk with Ron Randall and peruse through the Trekker omnibus by Dark Horse. He's a great guy. I bought the omnibus and loved every page, which led me to look for other stuff that he'd done and realized that I've been following this guy for years, finally making the Arak connection only 30 years later. Yeah, I'm quick like that.
