Description
This issue of Web of Spider-Man featured a story about J. Jonah Jameson. He has been imprisoned in his own penthouse by the Chameleon, who goes on to impersonate JJJ so no one even knows he's missing. While trying to escape, Jameson flashes back to an incident from when he was a rookie reporter.

Gerry Conway does a nice job (particularly under the monthly deadline grind!) of weaving between the two time periods. It's a great glimpse of Jonah's younger days and you can see a few seeds planted that helped make him the man he became.

The issue featured guest artists Frank Springer and John Romita. Hitting the stands in the midst of the Todd McFarlane hoopla, it's a lovely throwback to a more classic Spidey look.

I was thrilled to see six pages from this issue come up for auction and managed to snag four of them until I ran out of money.
