DescriptionI've been looking for this dps from New Avengers #12 and Avengers Finale for years! Bendis and his Avengers run brought me back to superhero comics after a long hiatus. The Ronin arc in Japan felt like good old fashioned adventures but with a dynamic and modern twist and Finch + Mikki were the most exciting art team I had seen in years.I loved it instantly and it remains my favorite arc (and new character) of Bendis' 8 years long (and 232 issues) Avengers run ! This piece, originally published in New Avengers #12 (pages 6-7), was used again as a dps in the last issue of Bendis' Avengers : New Avengers Finale (as the 1st of 8 dps, each by a different artist and representative of a major Marvel event/Avengers phase). This makes it the last Finch piece published in a Marvel comics. For me, it's the perfect bookends of Finch's Marvel career (and Bendis' Avengers run) : part of the arc that brought me back to Marvel comics and part of the final issue of Bendis' historic run. There aren't any New Avengers comic art that I wanted more than this one. PS : No offense to his blockbuster DC work, but I do miss Finch on the Marvel characters and Mikki is still my favorite inker for him. Social/Sharing |

Sincere congrats! Not the easiest thing to do to pick up your fave piece from a particular artist. Love all of the surrounding ninja here. Finch/Miki are absolutely a dynamic duo!

I was just watching a David Finch video pencilling tutorial last night so seeing this gives me new appreciation for the work Finch puts into every page, especially something like this!
