Description

This was drawn in Nov 2004 at a NYC convention. The artist is John Hebert, who pencilled some Punisher and X-Men stories in the mid-1990s. Hebert put a lot of time & energy into this piece, and it definitely shows.

As he was working on the sketch, John explained that he had left the comics biz nearly a decade ago, and that this was his first show in quite a while. I mentioned that I had met him at a convention somewhere in New Jersey nearly ten years before, and had bought a Punisher page from him, which I still had. This got the two of us talking about how much can change in ten years' time, different jobs that you find yourself doing, high school reunions, and how life ends up leading you places you never expect it to. Hebert was a cool guy, and I hope it won't be another ten years before run into him again!
