Jeff Stokely: Six-Gun Gorilla #1: p. 10

Bought it from Jeff at NYCC 2013. As soon as I saw it in his portfolio, I knew I just had to have it. Thing was, Jeff wasn't accepting credit cards, and I certainly didn't have the cash on me. (And I had already purchased a page from Matt Kindt--Mind MGMT #14 p. 9--so how in the world was I going to explain this to my wife?) I promisedpromisedpromised that I'd be right back and raced like I was avoiding gunfire to the ATMs. There were several terminals, but only one was working--and the line was ridiculous! Once I finally got to the machine--about a half an hour later--turned out there was a max withdrawal per transaction; so I had to do two, which didn't add to my atomic impatience at all. (And wouldn't you know: I'd find out later that my bank blocked my debit card because the transactions looked suspicious, especially since they appeared to have been made in, of all places, Arizona!) I trekked back to Jeff's table, dodging cosplayers and fanboys along the way, and, as promised, purchased the piece. He told me that this was the first page he drew for the series--that this was what he ran by Si Spurrier before working in earnest on the rest of the book. He also threw in a free print just because!
