Happy Birthday Month to Dan Parent, creator of Riverdale's First Gay Character: Kevin Keller #3 Summer Fun. Everyone Comes Out To AND At the Beach !!! Surfs Up Archie-style at SDCC 2014

Summer's over but it was such a blast!!! The Summer here in California always is filled with festivities, and they were all the more so rambunctious as a single person. I wasn't sure I would get to go to SDCC this year. I was on a gay cruise when the pre-sale occurred so it was up to the Fates when the general sale occurred in May. I can't believe I was able to get out of that virtual waiting room to buy tickets so late in the game! I was actually on a date with a guy (a second date) and spent most of it looking at the swirling circle of the virtual waiting room for nearly an hour until I was able to buy my tickets. We didn't go on a third date lol.

Last year, I visited Dan with my Kevin Keller shirt and took a picture, and I did the same this year!

Dan is such a great ally to our community and I love the energy and whimsy of his stories and art. I usually get a Kevin Keller page from his portfolio and this was the only Kevin Keller page left (and it was only Friday). Last year there were many more pages (I guess a good thing for Dan and a bad thing for me!).

School's out and Summer's upon the the Riverdale gang. Shenanigans ensue but Kevin Keller seems to always rise above it all. Secrets unfold and the bully gets what's coming to him. It's a Riverdale Romp just in time for Summer!
