Willard Mullin - Boxing/Baseball Sports Cartoon - 1941

Such beautiful figure work in this boxing cartoon that uses baseball as an example, from May 5, 1941. Mullin was commenting on the dubious refereeing that took place at the Ken Overlin/Billy Soose fight, and likened it to umpires blatantly missing easy calls in baseball. While I love Mullin's figure work in general, the guy sliding into home plate is a stellar example of his anatomical prowess with the pen. The piece appeared in the World-Telegram.
