Description
I found some of Eric's art by pure accident while looking through some images of other collectors in their CAF gallery. I was immediately "drawn" to his art. I loved the flow and depth of his work. I tracked him down on the net and he was quick to respond. I liked some of the original art he had for sale and I chose this original based on a painting by the same name. This is the prelim to that painting. Eric is a great guy to deal with. He responds quickly to emails and ships his art in nuke proof containers. He is an excellent artist. I look forward to more of his art in the future. Thanks Eric for everything. Below is Eric's response to this piece of art.
Regarding information about the drawing. Ever since I read Tolkien way back in High School, I have drawn and painted many images of the world he created. With the "Lord of the Rings" films and "the Hobbit" films, plus ALL of the other artists depictions from those stories, I like to occasionally draw and paint images from the lesser well known stories from "The Silmarillion" and the recently published "The Children of Hurin".
This is where "Glaurung at Eithel Ivrin" comes from. Glaurung is the first dragon that Morgoth (a.k.a. Melkor) created. Eithel Ivrin is a spring/waterfall. On his way to destroy Nargothrond (an underground Elvish City), Glaurung stopped at Eithel Ivrin to defile it.
The drawing, (plus other drawings of this image) and one painting I did in 2012.
