DescriptionThis is the second commission that I was able to get from John Romita Jr. and Tom Palmer (see my other commission for more background on thee genesis of the pieces). Romita Jr. pencilled the main figure and then Tom added the background and brought the piece to the "fully finished" level.As Tom and I talked about this piece, I wanted a piece that incorporated Hit Girl and her throwing knives... Since I moved out to LA, I've gotten more and more into collecting movie props and I was lucky enough to track down a set of screen-used knives from Kick-Ass 2. I thought it would be nice to have a piece of comic art to showcase next to the props. To incorporate the knives, I suggested to Tom that it might make sense to have Hit Girl emerging from her weapons closet... Tom came up with the rest. With these commissions, this was the first time that Tom had revisited Hit Girl and the Kick-Ass world since the series ended last year. In talking with Romita Jr. and Palmer, it sounds like Hit Girl was a character that they both had fondness for... hopefully we'll get to see her again in comics at some point down the line.
