Description

From the Comico Space Ghost special in 1987, 43 pages of near perfection.

In person this page is so perfect it's hard to believe it's the original art and not a very good print. This was obviously a labor of love for the artists involved, which is to be expected since Space Ghost was the creation that first and foremost made Steve Rude want to draw superheros. And the art team on this was rewarded with the Eisner Award for Best Art Team in 1988 (one of Steve's five Eisners!).

I didn't keep great records on this one, but I believe I got this at SDCC, probably in 1990, directly from Ken Steacy. While there I had both Steve and Ken Steacy sign it. Unfortunately I didn't scan it before having it framed. The paint is gouache on a heavy 11.5" x 17.5" board. The lettering and sound effects are on an onionskin overlay that isn't shown.

Steves Space Ghost is amazing to see in person!Would love to own one someday,great pick-up!

The art is great and it's an obvious labor of love, but no matter how many of these pages I've seen, the bright colors are always the thing that really grab me.
