Honestly, I got super lucky. By chance I met and spoke with the original owner of this piece (a very swell gentleman), and managed to get my hands on this piece. I had met Dan Hipp on Free Comic Book Day and grew to admire his art. When I had the chance to not only own a Dan Hipp piece but such an amazing one I couldn't resist. I'm incredibly thankful that the original commissioner is so cool and helped me with many facets of my introduction of this great hobby.

From what I (mis)remember of this piece's origin story, he had asked for these rogues specifically. Some of his favorite touches of the pieces are the inventive speech and the framing of Two Face outside of the traditional frame.

I love how many villains are just crammed into the shot. A gathering of people who are up to no good and Dan really made each of them shine. Its all so beautifully rendered and one of the most amazing things I have the pleasure to look at.

Fantastic Batman Rogues' Gallery! I'm intrigued by Dan Hipp's unique style. The characters all seem fresh seen through Hipp's eyes. I especially like the way Joker is resting his elbow nonchalantly on Mr. Freeze's helmet. Hah!
