When I was reading a large number of Marvel comics in the 1970's and 1980's, John Buscema was drawing many issues of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and Conan the Barbarian. He came out to San Diego Comic Con as a Special Guest in 2001, I think, when the
John Buscema Sketchbook was published by Vanguard Productions. I sought him out for an autograph in the book and met him for the first and only time. Despite everything else that happens at SDCC, I'm grateful so many prominent comic creators came to California where I got the chance to meet them. This is one image from an auction lot I won from Heritage. Here's a John Buscema pencil drawing of three women with different outfits. The main image shows an elaborate hat and a coat with an extreme collar. The one to the right features a long dress exposing the shoulder blades. The small one at the bottom has a blouse with puffy sleeves and a short skirt. These scans are the best I can do with the light pencils.
