The Pander Bros. are two of the most important artists in my growth as an art fan. They were so different from anything I had seen before. In my youth I had a very narrow view of what comic art should look like but their work on Grendel just rocked me. As the series progressed so did my capacity to see the brilliants of other artists I normally wouldn't give a second look.
Arnold and Jacob Pander broadened my ability open up to different styles. One of my favorites today is Jae Lee and I don't think that would have happened without having first been exposed to the Pander Brothers work.
When I recently got in touch with them it turned out they were very close to Dave Stevens and viewed him as a mentor. So their involvement in this project was just meant to be.
