Nightmaster sketch

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Nightmaster issues of Showcase so it's nice to see this early sketch of the character. The "NM" here across the chest is an amusing mix of superhero (wisely thrown out) into the fantasy milieu that the character became. But what is really interesting is just how loose the pencils are here. In some ways, it reminds me a little of his 80's work, especially "The Cult."
