Description

This illustration of Hay's accompanied an article in the New York Times titled "British Tea Missionaries Come to Convert Us". The piece ran in the May 2, 1926 issue of the newspaper and features three illustrations by Hay. The drawing is captioned, "Insisted on brewing in the Boston Harbor," while the published caption is: "The same tea that "Indians" brewed in the Boston Harbor". It's a lovely example of Hay's more mature slap-dash approach to drawing.
