Description

When I was growing up I always argued with my friends that sure John Byrne was a great X-men artist but I'd take Paul Smith over him any day. Then I read the Golden Age mini-series by Paul and James Robinson and it really made me realize what spectacular characters these guys were. Paul's storytelling on those books was unbelieveable and I loved how he could capture the emotions of the characters with his facial expressions.
Of all the great character interpretations from the series my favorite was Paul Kirk and I as soon as I started collecting art about 10 years back the top of my list was a Manhunter by Paul Smith.....It took me a few years but I was finally able reach that goal thanks to Paul and Tom Horvitz. This was a super experience and I could not be happier with the piece.

Gorgeous...just gorgeous....the use of light, shadow, and the fire light reflections...a masterwork...CONGRATS!

I remember meeting Paul Smith around the Marvel offices at the begining of his run on the X-Men-(1982)...and he was a great guy, sharing art tips and drawing knowledge,telling stories of his LOTR's animation work...it's nice to see that he's only become better with time.This "Manhunter" piece is amazing!
