Just an outstanding example of graphic storytelling, Terry. Well done!

For whatever reason at the time (perhaps it was due to finances, perhaps availability), I missed picking up the graphic novel when it came out, but I knew of it. So, being a fan of "the Outer Limits," Marshall Rogers and Harlan Ellison to one degree or another, I have always wondered how the graphic novel turned out. However, a while back on Youtube, I watched a video of Ellison savaging both the comic adaptation in general and Rogers artwork specifically. Again, I have not seen the whole, but if this excellent page is a fair example of Rogers' work on this project, I have to wonder what Ellison saw then that I am not seeing here. I mean, this particular page seems minimalistic compared to much of Rogers other works, but that appears to me as a stylistic choice, and, regardless, as the previous comments noted, it shows excellent storytelling.

Thanks for your interesting comments, Tim. Harlan, I think it's fair to say, has high expectations of both himself and others. The shooting script (on which this adaptation should have been wholly faithful to) was altered slightly (presumably by Marshall?) which would no doubt have p*ssed Harlan off (the un-altered script can be found in Harlan Ellison's Brain Movies, Volume 1). The art job didn't meet with Harlan's expectations, either (as you would already be aware). If you get to read the shooting script, you will quickly realise that Harlan writes very 'visually' (that is, he carefully explains how the camera shots should look on film). When that vision gets compromised, he's not a happy bunny . . . Regardless of shortcomings in the graphic novel adaptation, I do like Marshall's art job and (despite alterations to the shooting script that should have been faithfully adhered to) Harlan's writing shines through . . .Tim!
