John Romita - Spider-Man Trading Card Prelim

Right, this is a prelim, but, above all, this is John Romita on his signature character! And this is also PURE Romita!...

Don't get me wrong, I love his work when inked by himself or some of the greats he's been paired with during the past decades. But what grabs me here is the incredible dynamics of his pencil work, the economy of means when he hits the perfect pose with just a few strokes.

He's drawn him so many times that it must be a natural for him, but, to me, this is the true essence of the character!

One last thing: this prelim is undated and I've not been able to locate a published version, if there is any... My educated guess is that it must have been done around 1995, but if anyone knows better, don't hesitate and drop me a line!
