Description
This is the cover from Wizard #183: "The Best of 2006," commemorating the whole Civil War event that began that year.
I wanted a piece that captured the feel of McNiven's Civil War #7 cover, with Cap and Iron Man battling fiercely amongst the crumpled bodies of vanquished superheroes strewn on the ground around them.

Having seen the piece in person, one of the most profound characteristics of it is the incredible detail. I was blown away. The scales on Cap's uniform, the battle marks on Iron Man, the rubble and fallen heroes, all are a show of meticulous attention to detail. This cover perfectly encapsulates the power of the Civil War story arc. I'm glad McGuinness used a larger format to include all the detail and characters that he did. Simply an outstanding representation of one of my favorite story-arcs in comic book history. Congrats Amigo!!

Okay, this is weird.  I am LITERALLY sitting here watching Civil War on TV right now.  Just a great, great, EDEX cover.
