Description

I've always enjoyed Neil Gaiman's The Price, which was collected in an early volume of short stories titled Smoke and Mirrors. The final paragraph of the story provides an astute observation concerning the human condition. In November, 2004, Dark House published Creatures of the Night wherein Michael Zulli brought The Price (and one more Gaiman story, The Daughter of Owls) to vibrant life. This is the last page from the story that contains the beloved passage. (The text was computer generated and does not appear on the original art, so you'll have to run out and read the story. I don't want to ruin it for you.) Thanks to Scott Eder (ebay name - chesslove) for helping me obtain this page.
