DescriptionAfter a battle in a rainstorm, Sgt. Rock finds a captured soldier named Kelly. The soldier carries a plugged nickel as a good luck charm. When a tank attacks, Kelly uses a grenade to destroy the tank's treads. Easy finishes off the tank. Kelly is injured, so he gives the nickel to Sgt. Rock.Rock carries the nickel into battle. He thinks it brings him bad luck when Easy is ambushed. Rock is nearly killed in a river, but his fellow soldiers fight off the attack. Rock then returns the nickel to Kelly claiming that Easy is the only good luck piece that he needs. This gem with the prominent Tiger Tank panel came available at a bad time for me. Steve Kriozere stepped up and made the deal happen. Steve, THANKS SO MUCH for allowing me the opportunity to be the keeper of this wonderful piece of Kubert history!!!! Social/Sharing |

You scored big time with this. I saw this page, told Kriozere about it too. We both thought about it and then it was gone shortly after. It has the most amazing tank drawing! A real beauty!

Awesome Joe Kubert Our Army At War page. Love the authentic looking GIs in the opening panel. And I'm really impressed by the lool of the Tiger tank that rolls into frame in panel three. Authenticity--That's what Joe Kubert needed to sell his stories. And it's what he delivered.

I will always associated Kubert with Sgt. Rock. Great example!
