"Hong Qiao" by Oriana Kacicek

A commission from Oriana (orianakacicek.blogspot.com), based on a photo I took in Beijing, China in 2013.

"Hong Qiao" is a popular name for things in China, including a major airport in Shanghai. It translates to "red bridge" or "red entry path." The 'knock at the gate" over an expansive field of red is what I was going for in the photo, the asymmetrical composition of which is identical to this painting.
