Nightwing 2 cover by Eddy Barrows

I enjoyed the run of Barrows and Higgins on Nightwing tremendously. I found the writing to be true to the character while modernizing him a bit for a modern audience (not that anything was wrong with his previous incarnation) in coherence with the new 52 Batman verse. And the art was exceptional, the best of Eddy Barrows’ already stellar career. He really went with the acrobatic take on Nightwing which only had been satisfyingly achieved before by McDaniel and Leonardi.

So I wanted a nice example of that run and found this cover. The covers Eddy drew for the serie are all very nice but for me this one has it all. A acrobatic jumping Nightwwing, dodging a clawing bad guy? What’s not to love? We have have the clubs and the circus settings. So if you like the character, it’s perfect 

The super plus is that it comes with patch art as the first villain was not the one DC went with in the story. The one on the patch is even slicker and better designed.

The cover is done in pure pencils like most covers Eddy drew on the title. The rendering and delicate lines must be seen in person to really appreciate the craftsmanship.
