DescriptionIf you were born before 1990, Saturday morning cartoons were the prize for making it all the way through the week at school. One of my favorite cartoons from childhood is Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. This celluloid of Spidey is from the episode "The X-Men Adventure" and the hand-painted background is actually the Danger Room computer! To create this custom frame, I cut a double mat and sandwiched the cel and background with a mat separating them. The double mat is important with animation cels because you put the 2nd mat in between the background and the cel. So it's: Acid-Free Paper >>Background >>Mat 1 >>Cel >>Mat 2 >>Glass That way, there is a small air gap between the background and the cel, so that the paint doesn't stick and pull away over time. Special thanks to Marvin Hoover and Tommy Serra for helping me identify that it was, in fact, from AF and from which episode. It is greatly appreciated! Social/Sharing |
