After having written so many great stories for the Batman, it was great to see Frank Robbins putting his artistic skills to the fore and give us a unique, almost gothic vision of the character! Great splash, obviously!...

A terrific page. Robbins did far too little Batman. He was his own best inker. This is stellar.

Wow. I love the bold lines on this one. The lettering at the top is wild, but it's the figurework and the close-up of Batman that really make this moody page stand out. Fantastic title splash!
