DescriptionWhen Phil Hester put out a call for commissions in 2014 I jumped at the chance to have him do a Kurt Russell for me. I don't remember if he picked The Thing or if I did, but I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. He uses shadow so well, and it really makes the snow and steam from the flamethrower pop.Social/Sharing |

Great film, great actor, great director, great special effects, great storyboard artist (Mike Ploog!), Phil rules; fantastic choice for a commission!

Such a fantastic image. Phil's style captures the mood so well here. Congrats.

That may be the best commission I've ever seen from Phil Hester. What a fantastic piece. He's clearly a fan of this classic flick (me, too!).

Badass. A great image- and from my favorite movie too!
