Description

In the mid-1970s, Roger Stern and Bob Layton started a small fanzine entitled CPL, or Contemporary Pictorial Literature. It became very popular in fan circles, and eventually included such future comic stars as Tony Isabella, Roger Slifer, Duffy Vohland, Michael Uslan, and John Byrne. This cover is an early example of the art of John Byrne, likely done just before, or right about the time of, his professional comics debut.
