My mom ninja picked this piece up for me (thanks mom!) over at everydayoriginal.com
This is one of those pieces that hits all the right spots. First, I love the feel of it - the flow of the ink mixed with the graphic designs and the 'hidden' bird skull. There is something just really appealing to me about the whole piece.
But then you look at the title and that makes the piece even more perfect. It was done for the Month of Love 2016 challenge (for the Lost in Translation week). Aphasia is a disorder (cause by brain damage) that affects communication (potentially including sign and visual language). Being unable to find words or being unable to write / speak are parts of the disorder, but it has nothing to do with intelligence.
Now if you ever watched someone stumble over words when they are in love... yeah, sounds like that! Minus the brain damage of course.
On a personal note, as someone who grew up with 2 languages, I can sort of relate to the 'lost for words' feeling. I've been back in Germany for over 10 years now but still find myself slipping into English more often than I want to when I talk, especially if it's a topic I care about or something I say 'on the fly'.
So yeah, lovely piece, glad to have it on my wall.
