Description
You can see why Lee Weeks - a modern master - had such a celebrated and fondly rememebered run on Daredevil. What is inconcievable was that it was just a brief 2 year run (unfathomable in today's industry). This was always a modern classic for a few reasons, and maybe moreso now. First and foremost is the incredible art team of Lee Weeks and Al Williamson. Weeks is brilliant and coupled with one of the greatest inkers ever really makes this stand out. Another aspect I love about this is the unique story element illustrated on cover. In this issue Bullseye dons DD's costume and roams the streets and I wondered how it would be if there were a cover depicting Joker wearing the Batman costume? I also love the fact that the famous tagline has been changed - for this one issue - to The Man Without Mercy! Throw in the fact that the Netflix show (Hey I liked the Affleck movie) and the wonderful Daredevil series the past few years from Mark Waid have restablished Daredevil as an A-list character and you have a classic 1990 cover.

Great score bud. Big Al's inks with Lee's pencils create memorable pieces such as this.

Definitely a classic! Love the concept of Bullseye donning Daredevil's costume and looking so evil as a man gets beaten behind him. Very powerful cover, congrats!!

Lee's art was fabulous but I think you omitted saying how this is a classic run because of Ann Noncenti's fabulous writing! I bet those inks are much better looking in person that what the scan can show.

Perfectly captures the grime and grit of Daredevil as a street level hero. Superb!

Al Williamson is never the first inker I think of when it comes to Daredevil, but virtually every time he had anything to do with the character the results were magic (I can think of only one time I think he phoned it in). And Williamson inking Lee Weeks? What an awesome combo! Thanks for sharing this one.

It is a bit of a mystery as to why Weeks and Williamson are not more frequently mentioned in the Daredevil creative pantheon. Weeks' style is such a natural fit for Daredevil and Williamson's inks are such a natural fit for Weeks' pencils, it is a shame that they did not do many more issues. Congratulations on grabbing a very nice cover from their great work on the title.

Jason, a glorious cover by one of the greatest modern day artists working today. I met Lee Weeks last weekend at Heroes Comic Con. We talked for hours into the wee hours in the night. A genius - he draws and inks all his art, works tirelessly about 17-20 hours a day, sleeps very little, and is a devout Christian.  He so impressed me as a person as well as being a great artist!

Weeks is underrated, in my opinion.  And Williamson's inks are heavenly (or Helly in this title).
