Description

I don't read many new comics anymore, but I have enjoyed Batman '66 and it helped when old friend Rich Case was asked to do a story. I saw him at a show in Raleigh this past weekend and could not believe he still had these pages... pages I had asked him about over a year ago. So, I jumped on them.

A little different in that this is a solo Batgirl story, not Batman, with one of the more minor villains from the TV show - Bookworm. But it works in that Barbara Gordon is a librarian and the Bookworm tries to steal a grimoire from the Gotham library to allow him to use the spells he finds within to do his dastardly deeds. Of course, Barbara Gordon is there in the library, changes to Batgirl story and foils the caper. Plus, how do you not get engrossed (or just grossed out) when Bookworm turns his gang into giant silverfish, and Batgirl uses her Batarang to battle them and dispose of Bookworm. Fun stuff.

This is page 8 from the story and shows the attack of the silverfish, with Batgirl pulling out her Batarang. A nice shot of Batgirl in the lower right... not Yvonne Craig, but definitely a 60's Batgirl!
