Description

The first comic series I ever read was Fables. I can remember the exact moment I was sitting in a class and my friend came in with a bag of comics he had picked up at the LCS and he pulls out Fables #8. That James Jean cover blew my mind. I hadn't seen art like that before and from that point forward I was hooked.

So obviously as I got into collecting Original Art I knew I'd love to own something by James Jean. His art is the reason that I started reading comicbooks and it gave me a greater appreciation for art in general.

I'm super excited to be able to add this to my collection thanks to James and Felix! This is a double sided 15x22 unpublished cover/prelim from Fables 15. The first side is actually pretty close to what was printed. The final cover was done with finished pencils and photoshop that you can see in his Fables Covers art book. The other side is a similar concept but just a different pose.

I really love this piece because you get to see a lot of process and how James worked back then and also all the different mediums James used on it. Its got a little bit of everything!
