DescriptionTo say I loved the Bloodlines event of 1993 is a bit of an understatement. I really REALLY loved it (yes, I am serious here).Many look at it as one of the worst event of comics history, I understand, if I don't really agree on that at all. The event was shaky in places, that I'll say, but every writer and artist gave what they gave to the event. With some trying harder than others. And those who didn't care, it showed. I have a lot of favorites from the event such Joe Public, Layla, Mongrel, Anima, Samaritan and so forth but my absolute favorite of the New Bloods was without a doubt Chimera. Who was not only my favorite but when you think about it, the most powerful character created in the event, as she was a reality manipulator (though they later toned her powers down in a later appearance which was a bit of a shame). DC never used her much as the Team she debuted in, Team Titans, actually was wiped out only a few months later in Zero Hour (boooooh!). But I always loved her story and design. And she's also one of the few Indian-American DC characters I know of even now. So when I saw this for sale I knew I ha to try to get my hands on it, and as luck would have it I was able to. While I don't really view art in terms of "grails" like I see some folks mention about their pieces, if I did, this would be one to me. And I couldn't be happier. Social/Sharing |
