Description

I met Christopher Caravalho and Kristopher Lohman at the 2015 Kawaii Kon, where they were promoting their comic Aumakua Guardians of Hawaii. I took a look at the comic and really enjoyed it, especially the writing (Chris uses pidgin English for the majority of the dialogue, the English creole that many of the locals speak here in Hawaii. Real pidgin too, true to how it is spoken and not the weird broken nonsense that is often portrayed in movies). I knew I had to have something from them to add to my collection. Kristopher came up with this rendition of Portuguese Man-O-War and Seoul Hot on the beach in Hawaii. (Yeah, it’s redundant as the comic is already set in Hawaii, but I’m sticking to the theme.)
