I've contended for years that the major problem with comics from DC and Marvel is that the characters are not allowed to age. The new comic publisher Overground Comics has taken the position that time should flow.

On their "About" page, they say, "Overground Comics was founded to be the first existing comic book multi-title universe to exist in a real time continuity (currently a one of a kind entity in the comic book publishing imprint)."

Given my POV above, it should not be surprising that I'm interested in their comics. The one that I like best so far is - and it surprises me - Plus Ultra. I'd assumed that Plus Ultra would be one more book about a big busted woman in bathing suit, but it's not really. Yes, she attractive, but she looks and acts like a real young woman. The premise of the series is that a young actress, Kristen Kounslar, gained powers from a company that does that sort of thing so that should could gain more attention to her career. It worked in spades, but it didn't really change her much.

I ran into Matthew at Fan Expo Dallas 2016 and he had a portfolio with him. I remembered these two pages specifically from the story. As you can see in the printed pages, our hero, Kristen Kounslar, has seen her costume as a bathing suit looking good on a manikin. She's looking at it when the other woman says it'd be nice to wear that and not look silly. Kristen says (panel 2) that she thinks that she could pull it off. To which the other woman says that it isn't happening. I love the body language and point of view shifts. I think it conveys the other woman's scorn of Kristen's claim. I really like this page.

Of course, the capper is the next page where Kristen strikes the manikin's pose. I love it.
