Description

This is a Huge 24 X 36 oil painting that John did back in 98 on panel. After talking with him, he told me that The painting was done in 1998 and It was done for Ballantine books, who were at that time doing some Vampirella series. The're now defunct. He also said that he believed they used it in some form of a poster but never ran it on a cover due to nudity. After illustrating for fifteen years he said that he rarely saw the usage or received tear sheets or printed materials when they did use his work. He was a Professional Illustrator for fifteen years and did Fine art and was also a Filmmaker. He said he retired from Illustration in 2000 but I do know he's still painting and he's a great guy to talk with. I will be getting another painting from him. He does have a CAF gallery and has posted a few paintings for sale. Vampirella is now framed and comes in at 32 X 44.
