Description

Full colour painting of the original X-Men by British artist Bob Wakelin.

Bob is best known for his artwork that graced many UK computer games in the eighties. He also provided a lot of covers for Marvel UK and various computer games mags.

I purchased this from a comics store in Liverpool, Ogre Books, back in the eighties. I understand that it was used by Marvel UK as a centre, double page pull out poster, but I don't know what series or issue that it saw print. If you know, can you post in the comments?

But it does look quite zarjaz hanging on my wall!

This was the centre spread as far as I remember from a really bad weekly comic reprinting of early x-men stories that Marvel uk issued.Might have been the cover too from issue 1.This was the best thing in the comic.The comic was awful though due to dreadful colour seperations that looked like they had been done by a drunk monkey..Think you have the only non reprint art in the comic.Lovely painting.

Love this - Bob's work is excellent, especiialy his airbrushed games covers.
