Bernard's art was the BEST of this post-Johns era in my opinion. I adored his work on the Corps and felt the entire creative team gelled together wonderfully. Bernard's art jumps off the page and this is a solid example of that statement. The "quiet" panels at the top set us up for an otherwise calm "talking heads" page, but panel 4's tight angle shot on Jon turning his head forewarns us of the devastating strike we get in the final panel. Bernard does a superb job showing Jon's reaction through his facial expression.
What a story this page tells.
And I am such a sucker for any page featuring interactions between Jon and Yrra. Thank you for sharing this, Mike! On the off chance, let me know if you ever want to sell this page. ;)
