Cover by Toshio Maeda

This is an original cover by the great Toshio Maeda (Urotsokidoji, La Blue Girl...).

I bought this cover from him during a Belgian convention (Facts). He promised he would send the precise references to this piece but never did. If memory serves, it had something to do with wrestling (and underwear I'm sure).

Anyway, I liked the composition to this piece and I've alway liked the way he draws women and his style in general, that realistic approach that comes from the gekiga school/current. The color of the hero really makes it pop against the flesh of the girl.
